On this edition of Thursday Night Tailgate our guests are: former Seahawks LB Michael Jackson, former Patriots Pro Bowl RB Tony Collins, Host of the No Huddle show on the NFL on Tunein.com Brian Webber, Steelers legend Andy Russell and former Colts & Dolphins FB Don Nottingham.
Michael Jackson - Michael talked about his time playing at the University of Washington along with teammate Warren Moon. He talked about their Rose Bowl victory in 1977 over Michigan and his game saving interception on the 3 yard line as time was running out. He also talked about his time playing in Seattle and his strong belief that the Seahawks coaching staff threw the 1983 AFC Championship Game against the Raiders.
Tony Collins - Tony shared his thoughts on the possibility of Cardinals RB David Johnson getting 30 touches per game and if that would be good for his longevity in the game.
Brian Webber - Brian weighed in on Michael Vick interning with the Chiefs, the QB competition with the Browns between Cody Kessler, Brock Osweiller and DeShone Kizer, and some of the other top headlines heading into the start of training camp.
Andy Russell - Andy shared some great stories about Chuck Noll. He talked about what Chuck said to them the first he gathered the team together: "I watched game film and I figured out why you're losing...none of you are very good and I'm going to have to get rid of most of you." Andy also talked about how the LBs and DBs would regularly check out of the original play call depending on the offensive formation the other team would set up in and they were all so in tune with each other and so well prepared that no one had to call a defensive audible they just all knew the right switch to make.
Don Nottingham - Don talked about his time playing at Kent State in college and two young freshman that showed his senior year...Jack Lambert and Nick Saban. He also talked about being the last player chosen in the 1971 draft by the defending Super Bowl champion Colts. He shared stories about how Bubba Smith welcomed him to the NFL in training camp, how his nickname "The Human Bowling Ball" came about and the great work his local chapter of the NFL Alumni Association is doing for Special Olympics.

On this edition of Thursday Night Tailgate our guests are: former Chargers DE Burt Grossman, former Patriots Pro Bowl RB Tony Collins, former Steelers Pro Bowl QB Kordell Stewart, Chiefs Hall of Fame LB Bobby Bell and former Bucs and Notre Dame President Gay Culverhouse.
Burt Grossman - Burt talked about his holdout from training camp his rookie year and what it was like showing up on Friday prior to Week 1 and then playing against Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen and the Raiders on Sunday. He also talked about the great Chargers defenses he played on, and the great work he's doing now helping disadvantages kids in San Diego.
Tony Collins - Tony talked about being a part of the concussion lawsuit and the people coming at he and his peers trying to get a piece of that money.
Kordell Stewart - Kordell talked about the schools that recruited him and the difficult decision it was between Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Minnesota. He also shared memories of playing with Levon Kirkland and the current contract situation between the Steelers and Le'Veon Bell.
Bobby Bell - Bobby talked about being willing to play any position his coaches wanted him to because he just wanted to play and didn't want to sent home. He also talked about baseball being his best sport and the segregation issues he faced just trying to play.
Gay Culverhouse - Gay updated us on the NFL concussion lawsuit and the upcoming deadline for players to register. She also talked about the need for wide spread use of neck protection because concussion are caused by the whiplash effect from hits not hard helmets.

On this edition of Thursday Night Tailgate our guests are: former Patriots, Bills & Ravens Pro Bowl FB Sam Gash, former Patriots Pro Bowl RB Tony Collins, sports talk radio host Lance Zierlein, former Steelers & Giants Defensive Coordinator Tim Lewis, and former Steelers Pro Bowl LB Robin Cole.
Sam Gash - We talked with Sam about how his body is holding up after he played FB in the League for 12 seasons and he's now in his late 40s. We also got his thoughts on playing alongside Kevin Turner for a few years in New England, and his memories going against another great friend of the show in Colts LB Jeff Herrod twice a year for most of their careers. He also talked about his time at Penn State and if he would allow his kids play football.
Tony Collins - We walked down memory lane with Tony. We talked about his Patriots record setting day of 212 rushing yards against the Jets in 1983, the sanctity of the locker room and the relationship he had with guys on the Patriots defense.
Lance Zierlein - Lance shared his insights on the QB situations with the Texans and the Browns, who he thinks will be the best team in the AFC South division next season, and if the Bengals are a team who suffered a one season blip or if they are a team on the decline.
Tim Lewis - Tim shared stories from his time as the DB coach and later Defensive Coordinator in Pittsburgh. He talked about the first time he met Greg Lloyd and their relationship. He also talked about how he committed to every college he visited as a recruit, how he ultimately chose Pitt and then what it was like to come back years later and coach at his alma mater.
Robin Cole - Robin shared great stories about being a part of the late 1970's Steelers defense. He talked about their win in Super Bowl 14 over the Rams, the pressure of stepping into the position that Andy Russell vacated, his memories of the 1984 AFC Championship game against the Miami Dolphins and Dan Marino and his induction into the Washington County Historical Society Hall of Fame for his work helping to fight prostate cancer.

Lee Hanson - Lee's product, Guardian Caps, is a protective cover that fits on top of football helmets that reduces the force of helmet to helmet contact. They recently won the NFL Head Tech Challenge and a grant from the NFL to help advance the product. Hear Lee talking about all of that and exactly how Guardian Caps can damatically reduce head trauma in the game of football.
Tony Collins - Tony talked about when he knew his playing career was over plus he shared memories of playing for Raymond Berry and his experience being a part of Super Bowl 20.
Kordell Stewart - Kordell shared stories from his first ever start at the University of Colorado, the feeling he had when his hail mary pass to Michael Westbrook beat Michigan, becoming Slash in Pittsburgh and what it was like going up against guys like Greg Lloyd every day at practice in Pittsburgh.
Van Earl Wright - Van Earl shared his insights on his alma mater, the University of South Carolina. We talked about last football season and what to expect from them this season plus the excitement around their men's basketball team that made it to the Final Four and the women's team winning the National Championship. He also shared his memories of our next guest Will Kollmeyer when the 2 met as interns at CNN Sports back in the early 1980s.
Will Kollmeyer - Will shared his memories of working with Van Earl Wright plus one of his mentors Craig Sager. He also shared his thoughts on being inducted into the Northeast Mississippis Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and being the new Director of Athletics at Blue Mountain College.

Maya Akai - Maya shared her insights into if the Bears drafting Mitch Trubisky was a good idea, Jay Cutler's legacy in Chicago and what's up with the Cubs.
Cris Dishman - Cris shared stories about his playing at his alma mater Purdue alongisde future Hall of Famer Rod Woodson and going against Jim Everett every day at practice. He also talked about the 90's Oilers teams he played on alongside guys like Warren Moon, Haywood Jeffires, Ernest Giving, Mike Rozier, Allen Pinkett, Alzo Highsmith and the rest of their talented offense. He also shared his thoughts on what it was like playing for Jerry Glanville and his upcoming DB camp featuring Deion Sanders, Rod Woodson and Darrell Green.
