Wendell talked about the 1986 & '87 seasons at LSU and the heartbreak of coming so close to a national championship twice. We heard about what it's like on the LSU campus during Alabama week. Wendell talked about what it was like being drafted by the Bears and trying to make a name for himself during his first training camp against the #1 defense in the league. All of the same players on defense were still there in 1988 from that '85 Bears dominating defense. He talked about how they trashed talked, trying to get in his head. He also gave us his thoughts for the upcoming season for both LSU and the Bears.

Craig talked about why he's so excited and more involved this year with his alma mater the University of Tennessee and their football program than he has been over the last few years. He shared his insights on why they will be much better this season than they were last year. He also shared stories about those late 1970's Steelers teams and what it's like being the holder on game winning FG attempts especially in the cold, rain and snow. He also heard about the Colquitt lineage of Punters from him to his sons and his nephew.

Steelers legendary DB and 4 time Super Bowl Champion J.T. Thomas joins us on this segment of Thursday Night Tailgate. He talks about his time playing at Florida State and his expectations for them this season. He shared stories about Chuck Noll, what it was like being a 1st round pick, his first training camp and how just about everyone smoked in the locker room before games and during half-time back then. He also gave us his thoughts on the Steelers defense and what they need to do in order to be better this season.

We started out with Cris talking about his college playing days at Purdue and playing alongside Rod Woodson. Their freshman year they swept Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan, be coming the first Purdue team to ever do that. When he got to Houston Nick Saban was the DB Coach and Cris shared what it was like playing for him. We also heard what it was like showing up in training camp as a rookie 5th round pick and trying to make a name for yourself going up against Warren Moon, Ernest Giving, Drew Hill and Haywood Jeffires at practice.
