On this episode of Thursday Night Tailgate our guests are: Topps Marketing Communications Manager Susan Lulgjuraj, former Patriots Pro Bowl RB Tony Collins, former Pitt and Cincinnati Bengals DT Gary Burley, former Vikings, Panthers, Packers & Eagles Pro Bowl DT Keith Millard, and former Texas Rangers & Houston Astros Play by Play Announcer Greg Lucas.
Susan Lulgjuraj - Susan talked about how Beckett Media discovered her from a baseball card collecting blog that she wrote. We also talked about several of Topps series designs from 1968 and 1971 all the way up to their digital Bunt series available online and their Topps Now series.
Tony Collins - Tony shared his insights and thoughts on the Patriots draft plus their signing of former Bills RB Mike Gillislee.
Gary Burley - Gary shared his thoughts on the Bengals draft including their controversial pick of Joe Mixon. He also talked about what it was like to play for Paul Brown, why they went from (10-4) to (4-12) back to (12-4) and playing in the Super Bowl over his first few years in the League. He also talked about how he was mentored by the Steelers legendary defensive front 4 in Joe Greene, Ernie Holmes, Dwight White and L.C. Greenwood while he played his college ball at Pitt.
Keith Millard - Keith gave us his thoughts on the Vikings draft. He also talked about how he transitioned from playing TE to DT mid way through his college career at Washington State. He also shared his memories of playing for Bud Grant and the 4 sack day he had against the Eagles and Randall Cunningham in 1988.
Greg Lucas - Greg shared stories from his time doing Play by Play for the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros including his famous call of the ball that bounced off Jose Canseco's head for a HR. He also talked about being in Texas for the last few years of Nolan Ryan's career and how he dominated even at 44 and 45 years old plus his time in Houston watching Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell lead the Astros to the playoffs from 1997-2005.
