On this episode of Thursday Night Tailgate we're joined by former Steelers and Jaguars Tackle Leon Searcy Jr, former Patriots RB Tony Collins, and former Steelers Safety Lee Flowers III.
Leon Searcy shares a fantastic story from his draft day when a Cowboys representative showed up at his house, let himself in, helped himself to a beer, had a contract in hand, then the Steelers surprised everyone and took Leon a few spots ahead of the Cowboys. The guy tore up the contract and walked out. Leon also talks about how Kevin Greene made him a better player, and what it was like playing for Bill Cowher ("the spit was flying"). Read about these great stories and more in Leon's new book, "4th Down and Damn, a Lineman's Story" available on Amazon.com.
Tony Collins joins us and shares his stories from playing in Super Bowl XX, what it was like on the plane ride home and the reception from the fans in Boston when they landed.
Lee Flowers made his TNT debut and told great stories from his college career at Georgia Tech, what it was like when he showed up at training camp with the Steelers in 1995 and trying to make a name for himself, the advice Rod Woodson gave him, and how he earned Bill Cowher's trust.
