On this edition of Thursday Night Tailgate our guests are: former University of Georgia Head Coach Jim Donnan, former Patriots Pro Bowl RB Tony Collins, former Steelers, Eagles, & Giants LB Carlos Emmons, AT&T Sports Net Host Paul Alexander, and former Steelers RB Isaac Radman.
Hear Coach Donnan talking about the Division 1-AA National Championship they won when he was the Head Coach at Marshall, the National Championship they won at Oklahoma when he was their Offensive Coordinator and his time at the University of Georgia. Hear the story about "The Miracle on the Plains" when Georgia made an incredible come back and beat Auburn during his first season as Head Coach.
Tony Collins shared his thoughts on his alma mater East Carolina and their starting QB potentially transferring to Alabama. Tony also shared his thoughts on the philosophy of NFL coaches going forward. Does defense still win championships or do you need to focus on trying to outscore the other team now due to all of the rules changes?
Carlos Emmons shared his excitement over the Eagles winning the Super Bowl plus the pain and difficulty of being a 7th round draft pick trying to make it and life after the NFL. He took epidurals to mask a back injury during his time with Giants. He played on a broken leg. You can hear the disappointment and pain in his voice.
Paul Alexander gave us his thoughts on the Pirates organization and if they'll ever be able to compete after dismatling a team that won 98 games 2 years ago. He also shared his insights on the Penguins, what happened that turned around a .500 season inDecmeber into a a team that's (16-5) since.
Isaac Redman talked about his time with the Steelers and the tough running style that made him successful but also led to a career ending neck injury. He also talked about what the Steelers need to do in order to get over the hump and back into the Super Bowl.
