Former SMU, Eagles and Colts NT Harvey ARmstrong joined us on this segment of Thursday Night Tailgate. Harvey talked for the first time about the money he received to go SMU plus other things like the new cars got his sophomore and senior seasons. He said those sorts of things were rampant in the Southwest Conference at all the schools back then. Hear all that and more during our conversaton with Harvey.

Gus Frerotte joined us this week on Thursday Night Tailgate and explained why a kid from outside of Pittsburgh played his college ball at Tulsa over Pitt or Penn State. He also talked about how he gained the starting job with the Redskins over 1st round pick Heath Shuler, what it was like leading the Redskins to their first winning season in the post Joe Gibb era and the great work he's doing now with a company called RC21X that helps assess our brain functionality.

Tony Collins - We got Tony's memories of former NT Lester Williams who passed away this week at the age of 58. He also talked about the Patriots purchase of two 767 airplanes and what it was like traveling back when he played.
Terry shared his memories of playing for Ara Parseghian at Notre Dame. He also talked in detail about Rocky Bleier, who he played with at Notre Dame and in Pittsburgh. He shared what it was like watching Rocky fight his way back from the injuries he sustained in Vietnam and the support Rocky got from Mr. Rooney. We also talked about Joe Greene plus what it was like facing the Steelers after he was released and signed by the Tampa Bucs during their inaugural season in 1976.

Walter Carter - Walter shared his memories of being a part of Bobby Bowden's first team at Florida State. He talked about how Bowden convinced him to scrap going to Miami and play at Florida State instead. He talked about their 47-0 loss to Miami in their 3rd game and Bowden promised they would never lose like that again. He also talked about how Bowden got them to believe that they were never out of game, no matter how far down there were.

Ed White - Ed shared his perspective on what the San Diego community is going through as they prepare for the first season without the Chargers since 1960. He also talked about what it was like lining up against Alan Page every day at practice and playing against the Hall of Fame front fours in the Steelers, Rams, and Cowboys of the 1970's.

Matthew Hatchette - Matthew talked about what it was like playing alongside Randy Moss, Cris Cater & Jake Reed on those 90's Vikings teams. He also talked about his one season playing for the Jets, what it's like being the Offensive Coordinator now for one of the top high school programs in the country and his movie production company.

Mark Carrier - Mark shared his memories from his time playing at USC plus as they enter this season ranked 5th, do they have what it takes to make the playoffs and compete for the National Championship. Mark also talked about the challenge of playing defense for the Bears when you're constantly compared to Dick Butkus and "The Monsters of the Midway" and the '85 Bears.

Eddie Kennison - Eddie shared his thoughts on where LSU is at and if they can contend with Alabama this season in the SEC West. We also got his thoughts on whether the Chiefs have gone as far as Alex Smith can take them and are they a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
